The psychic

I went to a psychic a few days ago. First time in more than 10 years. I've had really good experiences, except for the last time--I could've bought a book and pack of tarot cards and done what that fraud did. Based on solid recommendations, I went to one in the area and loved him. You can't take things literally, but you can't help but be floored when specifics come out that no one other than you wife knows. I love a good psychic reading. Here's to the planets, baby! Now if I could only get some motivation.

The lizard stalker

She crawls into closets and behind paint cans until the lizard tries to escape. With a lightning quick move, she catches it and picks it up with her mouth.

She plays with it and eventually begins to cripple its legs and breaks the tail.

She's both proud and irritated as the lizard begins to die. Of course, she always removes the tail.

When the bully is done, she chills out in her chair, always alert for her next victim.

I'd like to say that no reptiles were harmed in the making of this post, but that would be an obvious lie. I do protect the frogs, though.

Driving doesn't always suck

I've gone across the Bay a couple of times recently to catch some live music. I danced my butt off to Rusted Root one evening, and another was spent dancing to Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, who opened for the New York Dolls. I saw the Dolls in Memphis in 1973-74. It was cool to see them again. On my drive over, the sun was setting over the bay.

Turtle - doesn't involve chocolate or sheets

We have a lake by our house. I see it every day when I walk Mocha. I need my daily water fix since I have no water signs in my chart. The lake is home to lots of turtles, but not like the turtle I saw as I was walking to the pool recently.

Road trip

I took the granddaughter to north Georgia to spend some time with the parents and take her to the mountains for the first time. We went to the top of Brasstown Bald. Her favorite part was when we got snacks at the store.

We rode the horse-go-round, drank applie cider slushes, laid on the hammock, and had a great time.

If it isn't obvious, I absolutely adore my granddaughter!

The wifey owns property in the area, too. This brook runs along the property line.

Two dogs and a monkey

Aubrey stayed with us a few times. She loves the dogs. This was one of, if not the last, picture of T-Bone. He died a few about a month after this picture was taken. We had moved back home by then. I miss his big loving.

The Florida life

I spent the majority of February living at my mother-in-law's house while she had, and recovered from, surgery. The wifey was there with me quite a bit but it was more like I spent a month by myself. We don't have seasons in Tampa in the way cities north of us do, but there are changes. The trees fill in, animals return, the humidity and temperature rise, and this year I watched Jamaica grow.

The M-I-L has two Yorkies--Phoebe is 13 and Sage is around 4. Sage and Jamaica had a great time together.

I made me a little place in the woods where I could go have my moments of zen. Mocha liked to hang out there and sniff through the woods. I was sitting in the chair one day, looked up, and saw the owl.

Jamaica enjoyed it quite a bit. In fact, she told me staying there was yummy!
